in the wind 和in the air
一個是「在風裡」，一個是「在空氣中」，有什麼不同呢？
“in the wind”意思是形容某事即將發生，也許跟中文裡的「風聲」有點相似。例如：Changes in top management of the company have been in the wind for weeks. 幾周來人們一直在傳說，公司上層即將進行改組。又如：They sensed that there was something in the wind.他們察覺到要有事發生了。
而in the air 表示「在流傳中流行的」，和in the wind不同，它所描述的事情一般來說是會發生的，在人們腦海中縈繞，而不僅僅是傳聞而已。如：The war filled people’s thoughts every day; it was in the air.人們只是一門心思地想著即將爆發的戰爭。
In the air 還可表示某事懸而未決，不確定。如：Our plans are still in the air.我們的計畫仍懸而未決。
