swipe可指結帳時「刷卡的動作」，刷其他如門卡或識別證，也可以用swipe。如果是指以信用卡付款，則可說pay by credit (card) 或是charge。

例句：
1. Please swipe your card through the reader to process your payment.
請在刷卡機過卡以便付款。
2. For some reason, the door didn’t open when I swiped my card.
不知道為什麼我刷了卡，門卻沒有開啟。
