Polaroid是發明並生產世界上第一台即時成像的相機公司，此相機問世時風靡全球，因此大眾便用公司品牌名稱Polaroid（拍立得）來稱呼這類相片。由拍立得相機（Polaroid camera）拍出來的相片可稱為Polaroid picture/photo 或 Polaroid。
