最近季節交替，日夜溫差大，是相當容易傳染流感（influenza，簡稱flu）的季節，傳染的動詞為infect，名詞為infection。infect的相反詞為disinfect，指「為……殺菌、消毒」的意思。形容疾病是「傳染性的」，可用形容詞infectious。同義詞有transmit，為動詞，指「傳染、傳播」，名詞是transmission。
