涼鞋的英文是 sandals，單靠幾條帶子（straps）將腳固定在鞋底（sole）上，是相當透氣的鞋子，類似的鞋子還有 flip-flops「人字拖」；slippers「拖鞋」； espadrilles「布面草編平底鞋」。
