2011 Taiwan Green Smart City Expo presents the Tainan Pavilion in the Smart City Exhibit Area
Governor Lai Ching-teh will host the opening ceremony and announce to the public what can be seen in this exhibition. Industry leaders have also been invited to show Tainan’s determination to become a smart city. Active participation has allowed both the quality and quantity of the Tainan City Government exhibition to rank at the top among exhibits in the Expo. The city government will also extend the exhibition into the virtual world with a themed website to gain even more exposure for the content.
The Smart City Exhibition in the Green Smart Tainan Pavilion embodies the ten flagship projects promoted by Governor Lai, which include Intelligent Transportation Systems; Smart Healthcare; Intelligent Tourism and Travel Services; Smart Community Living; Smart Regional Classrooms; an Intelligent Disaster Prevention and Monitoring System; a Community and Regional Intelligent Crime Prevention System; the establishment, value-adding and application of citywide 3-D structural models and property databases; an Internet Network Application Platform; and a Three-dimensional Geographic Information System.
Governor Lai signed a Smart Tainan Memorandum with National Cheng Kung University, National Taiwan University and National Chiao Tung University in April this year to declare Tainan’s vision of becoming a smart city. With the combined forces of the three regional centers, Tainan is taking its first steps toward the goal of becoming a smart city.
