A second Taiwanese taekwondo athlete has qualified for the Olympics in London next year. Tseng Li-cheng 曾櫟騁took gold in a qualification tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan. She joins Yang Shu-chun, who qualified for the Olympics earlier in the tournament.
At the World Taekwondo Federation World Qualification Tournament for the 2012 London Olympic Games, Tseng Li-cheng took gold in the women’s 57-kilogram category after meeting China’s Hou Yuzhou in the final.
Although Hou is a two-time world champion, Tseng showed no fear and came away with a 3-0 victory.

I was testing her and she was testing me. I just change myself depending on my opponent’s style. Wherever there is a hole, that’s where I hit. I don’t always fight the same way.
When the news reached Taiwan, Tseng’s father said he had been cheering his 26-year-old daughter on from afar.

Of course I’m very happy. After all, she is getting older. She said that she wanted to achieve this childhood dream. After the (Olympics) she might (retire).
Tseng has previously won silver and bronze at Pusan and Doha before taking gold at the East Asian Games last year in Guangzhou. Now she has a chance to fight for a medal at the Olympics.
繼楊淑君獲得倫敦奧運跆拳道參賽權後，我國女將曾櫟騁在亞塞拜然所舉辦的世界區奧運資格賽，擊敗兩屆世錦賽冠軍，中國選手侯玉琢，奪下冠軍，也為中華隊再下一張奧運門票。她的父親今天開心的說，女兒已經26歲，知道自己在不拼就無緣奧運。

即使侯玉琢曾經是兩屆世錦賽冠軍，曾櫟騁沒在怕，以三比零成功奪冠。

“其實我在試探她(對手)，她也在試探我，我就是以對手的形態來改變我自己，哪裡有漏洞我就打哪裡，我不可能一個模式打到底”
消息傳回在台灣，曾爸爸今天也為女兒喝采。

“當然非常高興，她因為畢竟年紀也有了，她想說一定要達成她的願望從小，她這一次(奧運)比完，可能她就那個(準備退休)了”
曾櫟騁曾在釜山和杜哈亞運，奪下二三名，前年東亞運奪金，就差在奧運舞台上，為自己和國家爭光。
