多肉植物如仙人掌（cactus）或石蓮，由於適應力高、好照顧，外型圓胖可愛，是許多人的室內植物首選，多肉植物英文是 succulent plant，也可直接說 succulent。succulent 這個字當形容詞，也有「多汁的」的意思。
