YY當碰到兩個無論人,事,物, 在被比較時
  neither....nor.... 是用於否定的句型
  either.......or..... 是用於肯定的句型
  both 可用於肯定與否定句型

  舉幾個簡單的例子

  1. 我喜歡咖啡也喜歡茶 ---兩者都喜歡, 肯定的句型
  I like either coffee or tea. 或是
  I like both coffee and tea.

  2. 我不喜歡約翰也不喜歡湯姆--兩者都不喜歡, 否定的句型
  I  like neither John nor Tom. 或是
 I don’t like both John and Tom.

YY either 是「二者之間的部份否定」，例如：
  Either Mary or John is a student.
  不是 Mary, 那就是 John，其中有一個是學生。

  而且either 含有「二選一」的意味。例如，
  Mary: Do you want tea or coffee?
  John: Either. I don't mind.
  Mary 問 John 要喝茶還是咖啡，而 John 回答的是「隨便；都可以，我無所謂」
 

  但 neither 就含有「二者皆否定」的意思，例如：
  Neither Mary nor John is a student.
  這話的意思就是說，Mary 和 John 都不是學生。
  

  至於其用法，大同小異，只是意義不同而已。
  Neither of my brothers is a student.
  (我的兩個兄弟都不是學生）

  Either of my brothers is a teacher.
  （我的兩個兄弟，有一個是教師）
 

＊    例句中的 of 可有可無，而且動詞一定是單數。
  Neither the books is cheap.

  （這兩本書，沒一本是便宜的；都很貴）
 

 Either the cars is an old style.
  （這兩部車，有一部是舊款的）
  ＊ either / neither 所接的名詞之前，一定要冠上 the/these/those/ 代名詞所有格
