小片語 大功用
今天要來學一個片語。這個片語簡單到，即使出現在句子中，也常常被人忘記它的存在。
在介紹這個片語前，先來看個漫畫：
Woody just bought a new house and he's shopping for furniture.
Woody：Forget it, I can survive without a sofa.
Woody：I could do without a T.V cabinet too.
Woody：Well ... this is my new home.
這個片語就是，「do without......」，像這類的片語，難就難在它太簡單了，所以常被人忽略；但往往只用幾個簡單的字，就能把意思表達得很清楚。
它相當於中文裡的「沒有…也行」，或是「就將就著吧」。來看兩個例句:
I can do without your advice. 我不需要你的忠告。
If we can't afford a car, we'll just have to do without (one). 要是買不起汽車，也就只好不用。
