1. The pediatrician found the baby had not heartbeat. Heart 是心臟。 Heartbeat 才是心跳。如果醫生發現嬰兒沒有心臟，那後果應該不可想像。
    
2.  I majored in Chemical engineering. Engineer是工程師。 Engineering是工程、工程學的意思。主修應該是主修何種學科，而不是主修工程師。
    
3.  Reading wasn’t my real interest. Interesting是形容詞，有趣的。It is an interesting story. 這是個有趣的故事。Interest是指興趣、愛好。I have lost my interest in playing piano. 我對彈鋼琴已失去興趣。
    
4. My immune system has infected.  Immune system才是免疫系統的意思。Immunity是免疫力的意思。The vaccine provides immunity against flu. 這疫苗提供免疫力對抗流感。 Immunity 另外還有豁免權的意思。She has the immunity from elimination from this week’s competition. 她在這星期競賽中有免於被淘汰的權利。  
    
5. I was waiting for departure at the airport. Depart是動詞，有出發、離開的意思。 They depart at midnight. Departure 是名詞，離境的意思。這裡要用名詞 departure.
