Follow the X-men as they attempt to change the past to save the future
This is the age of the superhero blockbuster. For the past few years, movies about people with impossible abilities have excelled at the global box office, and there seems to be little sign of this trend abating anytime soon. Already in 2014, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Rise of Electro" have became smash hits all over the world. But these may merely be precursors to perhaps the year's most eagerly anticipated comic book movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past," which will be released on May 21 in Taiwan.
This movie, the seventh in the "X-Men" film series, is based on one of the comic book's most memorable and iconic storylines. And by adapting this particular story, the film's creators were able to blend the first three "X-Men" movies with the new version that began in 2011 with "X-Men: First Class."
The story of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" shows two different timelines. Seeking to prevent a future ruled by powerful robots known as Sentinels, which have rounded up mutants in camps, the X-Men send Wolverine's mind back in time into his younger self so that he can help broker peace between friends-turned-enemies Professor X and Magneto. Only by uniting these enemies will the X-Men be able to avert the events that lead to the rise of the deadly Sentinels.
