The Rise of Young Adults as APP Developers

文/Arica

Apple invited 150 developers to its prestigious WWDC in San Francisco, yet excluded them from its Thursday party beginning. The 150 excluded developers could not participate in the “Beer Bash” because they are all under twenty-one years old.

For the first time, Apple recognized young prodigies by opening the door for them to mingle with the elder app developers. Previously, only developers over eighteen years old who paid entrance fee of $1599 may attend WWDC. To (A)encourage the young developers, Apple not only distributed aids to assists them in paying the fee, but also lowered the age limit by requesting their parents to sign non-disclosure agreement and inviting the parents to join their children in the conference.

While many teen attendees are (1)self-taught, the trend of young developers has inspired educational institutions to initiate programs for the eager learners and parents. Both adolescents and parents (B)foresee a bright future for app developers; some parents have enrolled children as young as seven in programming classes to have (2)a head start.
