On June 12th, Maurice Sendak’s friends gathered in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at the Metropolitan Museum to attend his farewell ceremony. Judy Taylor Hough was the British editor responsible for publishing “Where the Wild Things Are” in the UK, and also a firm friend to Sendak from the moment she first met him in 1961, without whom the book might not be the global hit it is today.
