When customers stop by Mitsukoshi’s main store in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district, they may do a double take when they meet new customer representative Aico Chihira.
當顧客逛到東京日本橋的三越百貨公司本店時，可能會在看到新來的客服代表地平愛子時嚇一跳，並多看兩眼。
Developed by Toshiba Corp., the lifelike humanoid robot will greet shoppers on April 20-21 at the information desk on the first floor of the department store’s main building near the Muromachi exit.
這個由東芝研發的超仿真人形機器人，將在4月20日到21日於這家百貨公司本館靠近室町出口的1樓服務台接待來客。
"I want her to surprise and impress visitors with her state-of-the-art technology," said a public relations official for Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd., the operator of the store.
「我要她以她的新近科技令來客感到驚喜與留下深刻印象，」負責該百貨公司營運的伊勢丹三越控股公司公關部門一名人員如是說。
During her special appearance, Aico will provide shoppers with information on store services, including its grocery department, and special events, Toshiba said.
東芝表示，愛子在此特殊亮相期間，會提供來客有關該百貨公司的服務資訊，包括超市與特別活動。
The skin of the 1.65-centimeter-tall robot is silicone based. Her lips move in sync with her voice audio, as do her facial expressions. She also gestures with her hand while speaking.
這具165公分高的機器人的皮膚是以為矽氧樹脂為基礎，嘴唇會隨著聲音播放而同步移動，臉部表情亦然。她講話時也會有手部動作。
