演唱會時我們常常聽到的「安可」英文就是 encore，這個字可以當感嘆詞（如：Encore！）跟名詞，是從法語 encore 借來的，在法文的意思是 again「再一次」的意思，所以在演唱會喊安可就是希望能再來一首的意思。

例句：
At the end of the performance, the audience shouted, 「Encore! Encore！」
表演尾聲時，觀眾大聲喊：「再一首！再一首！」

The musicians played two encores before leaving the stage.
演奏家在離場前多表演了兩首安可曲。
