Chinese President Hu Jintao is working to increase interaction between the people on the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. He even attended a Taiwanese youth activity in China that featured Taiwan’s famed dancing god.

Beijing recently has been holding a number of activities to promote interaction between Taiwanese and Chinese youths. Hu made a point of appearing at one of these events Tuesday. He wanted to show that he pays close attention to culture and arts in the two countries, and looked closely at a Taiwanese girl trying out the ancient Chinese art of watermarks.

Another performance included ancient Chinese bells, playing a melody familiar among Taiwanese.
Hu sang the song “Green Mountain” with the Taiwanese students.
It’s unclear if Hu was trying to lower cross-strait tension, curry Taiwanese favor or if he simply wanted to interact with people from Taiwan. Whatever the case, he enjoyed spending time with Taiwanese youths.

此外，古代打擊樂器編鐘也敲出台灣民眾熟悉的旋律。
胡錦濤和大批台灣青年兩岸青年交流活動還同聲齊唱高山青。
不論是柔性統戰，爭取民心還是單純交流，此次兩岸青年交流活動，的確成功的讓胡錦濤和台灣年輕人打成一片。
