A puppy was banned from going near David Cameron in Cheltenham for ’security reasons’.
Sarah Styler was bemused when she was ordered to keep her eight-month old Jack Russell poodle cross breed away from the Prime Minister outside St Luke’s Church Hall.
She was taking her puppy, Silver, for a walk near her house on Sunday when she spotted TV crews gathered outside the church. Mrs Styler, 49, waited to speak to the Prime Minister with a group of other voters.
But to her surprise she was told by a Tory aide that she could only speak to Mr Cameron if her dog was not present.
The aide proceeded to walk the dog to the other side of the road - a safe distance from the PM.
According to Mrs Styler he said: "The Prime Minister loves dogs, but it was just for security."
