2011是國片的契機年。從規格、導演拍攝、故事題材、執行製作體系……的逐漸成熟，我們都已經可以隱約嗅出台灣電影產業的曙光。不過，問題來了。國片「契機」、有志人士共同「參與」、「痛失良機」這些英文到底該怎麼說？

1. a fresh turning point 新契機
一般人想到「契機」，就會直接想到 opportunity、chance、hope 這幾個字。「契機」這個詞強調的意含應該不只是機會，它還包含了「轉折」。國片要從過去10 年的陰暗期豁然開朗，這樣的狀態應該是一個 fresh turning point：We’re going to witness a fresh turning point in local film industry.「我們將會見證國片的新契機。」

2. wait in the wings 時時刻刻準備著
「等待時機」你只會說 wait for the opportunity 嗎？wait in the wings 是另一個更傳神的說法，它的意象就是蟄伏、等待時機、下一步就要展翅高飛：There are many young directors waiting in the wings, ready to show their talent. 2011 is right the year to fully display themselves.「許多年輕導演都在等待時機，等著一展長才。2011 年就是他們最好的機會。」

3. get in on the act 參與、投身
這個片語可不是普通的「參與」join。它特指我們看到一個已經創造出的機會，跟著加入這同一波浪潮：Many film producers get in on the act following the success of Cape No. 7.「許多電影製作人在《海角七號》的成功後，紛紛投身振興國片的行列。」

4. while the going is good 趁情勢還好時
這裡的 going 指的是事情的狀況。電影產業的甦醒，帶動了企業的集體投資，對於兩方都是同時向上、雙贏的局面。這時候我們就可以說 Many enterprises invest in local film industry while the going is good.「在本土電影業的情勢看好下，許多的企業紛紛投資。」

5. push one’s luck 延續運氣
這個動作也可以用意象理解。將一個人的好運再往前再推一些，是要延續以往的好運，期待再創造出一次高峰：The director pushed his luck by not closing out with If You Are the One, and the sequel proved to be quite a success.「《非誠勿擾》導演想要延續第一集的賣座，果然續集也頗為成功。」
