Despite shaky start, Chen Wei-yin gets first win of the season (2014/04/09)
After struggling in his season debut, Baltimore Orioles pitcher Chen Wei-yin took the mound on Tuesday against the New York Yankees. The Taiwanese left hander hoped to get his first win of the season.
In the first inning against the Yankees, the Orioles showed power at the plate with a three-run outburst.
Yankees starter Ivan Nova was battered. He gave up another run in the second and three in the fourth.
The Orioles Chen Wei-yin was better, but only slightly. After giving up a run in the first he surrendered this home run to Alfonso Soriano in the fourth.
Chen then gave up an RBI double to Yangervis Solarte and an RBI groundout to Brett Gardner. Chen allowed nine hits and four runs over five innings of work.

After getting two strikes, I wasn’t able to fool the batters or get them with something off-speed like a breaking ball. It could be that I’m still making adjustments.
Chen was disappointed with his performance, but with the Orioles amassing 20 hits and three home runs, it was good enough for the win. The O’s prevailed 14-5 and Chen recorded his first win of the season.

接著陳偉殷被Yangervis Solarte打出帶有打點的二壘安打後，Brett Gardner的滾地球雖然出局，還是送回壘上跑者。總計五局的投球，陳偉殷被擊出9支安打失4分。

“兩好球之後，沒有好好的做一些讓打者有些困惑，還是變化球種上面，讓他們有個速差的感覺，也沒有，可能自己還要做些調整”
雖然陳偉殷對自己的表現不滿意，但金鶯火力強大，全場擊出20支安打，包括3支全壘打，終場以14比5擊敗洋基，幫助陳偉殷拿下首勝。
