Chris在外商工作，經常會有機會到海外出差，偶爾也要接待海外同事。當美國同事到台灣出差，他問對方要在台灣住幾天：

A：How long will you live? (X)
B：I’ll be staying for 3 days.(O)

原來這種短暫的「住」不是live，而是stay。這句話可以說成

(O)How long are you staying?
(O) How long will you be staying?

來看看這四個和出差相關的常見英文錯誤：

1. 我想拜訪Johnson先生。(在櫃台前和服務人員的對話)

(X) I would like to visit Mr. Johnson.
(O) I am here to see Mr. Johnson.

Visit和See都有探望、拜訪的意思，如果是計畫拜訪某人，你可以說I plan to visit some potential clients next week. 但已經到門口，約好了的，就用see比較自然。

2. 我要到新加坡出差。

(X) I am going on a business trip to Singapore. 
(O) I'm going to Singapore on business.

出差英文叫做go on a business trip沒錯，但英文習慣先講重點，到新加坡出差是重點，所以就說”go to Singapore on business”。

3. 你不知道這次出差行程安排的有多緊湊。

(X) You don't know how busy the schedule is for this business trip.
(O) You don't know how tight the schedule is for this business trip.

人很忙用busy，行程很緊湊用tight。

4. 我以前從來沒有來過這裡。

(X) I have never been here before.
(O) I had never been here.

既然用"here"，表示我們的人一定在那兒，明明人已經在那兒又說沒有到過那兒，有點矛盾。用過去完成式，以前沒來過就合理了。
