如果你的office常有老外，以下這些字句，保證三天兩頭聽得到；值得高興的是，這些字保證沒有一個你不認得。但問題又來了，你從來不會這樣用。
學英文真的要活，活的竅門就是不用難字，耳朵永遠在聽自己沒有用過的表達方式，嘴巴永遠在嘗試耳朵新接受的訓息。未來一週你的任務，把以下幾句英文，想辦法找一個場合非說出來不可。英文，只有說出來的才是你的！
1. On top of that
老外很喜歡用這個字，這個片語一定解釋，大概就是「除此之外」，或是「更重要的是」。例如：The unemployment rate is rising, and on top of that, factory orders are also down.（失業率增加了，除此之外，工廠的訂單也減少了。）
2. Stay on top of
Stay on top of something指一直努力表現到最好；想把英文講好，也可以說成是Stay on top of English at work。例如：I've been working very hard to stay on top of my work.（我一直很努力工作將我的工作做到最好。）
3. On the ball
On the ball來自於運動場。當你on the ball，就得警覺並處於掌控制地位。例如：Make sure you are on the ball with those reports.（確定你這些報告沒問題。）相反的是drop the ball，意思是你沒有完成任務並讓和你一起工作的人失望了。
4. Get the ball rolling
Get the ball rolling意思是開始做一件事，而且讓它可以很順暢地運作。例如：Let's get the ball rolling on this project.（我們開始展開專案吧！）如果這件事情已經進行到一半，你可以用keep the ball rolling.表示維持運作順暢。
5. Multi-tasking
一個人當三個人用，這大概是老闆最喜歡用的人才。英文有一個字用來形容這種人，叫multi-tasking，意思是能同一時間完成多項任務。例如：This week we need you to write a report, make a presentation, and review last year's earnings. I hope you can multi-task!"（這週你得寫一份報告、做一份簡報，看去年營數報表，希望你能夠一次完成多項任務。）
6. Downtime
沒有多少工作要做、或者你的工作只是不像以前那樣忙，這樣的時段就稱作downtime。例如：If you have some downtime this week, please brainstorm some ideas for our new marketing plan.（如果你有一些時間，就一起腦力激盪我們新的行銷計劃吧！）
