A Kung Fu expert hopes to make a fortune in movies after mastering for real the kind of astonishing feats that stuntmen can only fake.

Bai Yunshan, 26 – from Yushu, Jilin province, northern China – has spent 20 years dedicated to learning Qing-gong, where students learn to virtually walk on air.

The techniques – copied in kung fu film hit Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon – allow practitioners to run up virtually sheer walls or perch on impossibly thin tree branches.

Bai explained: "I have reached the highest level of training. I can hang upside down like a bat or I can leap as nimbly as a bird skimming through air."

He added: "Now I want to show people in films that they don’t need wires and nets and harnesses to do what I do – just practice and dedication." (wrapup)
